When we set out to design our saunas, we had one goal: to create the most transformative and intimate sweat bathing experience possible.
This idea has been our guiding principle throughout the creation and development of our products. We’ve spent countless hours interviewing sauna users of all types and sitting in saunas around the world. In this process one thing became abundantly clear. No one likes a lukewarm sauna. While the industry is overwhelmed by products that sacrifice heat for ease of construction, finding saunas that offer rich and dense heat are increasingly rare. We looked back into the sauna traditions of old to see how and why we had lost this key part of the sauna experience. What we found is that the art of the structure has been lost. By obsessing over the details that create and retain the heat, we’ve elevated the sensory experience of the personal sauna.

A reclaimed brass nautical lamp accents the front porch, while additional aged-brass details reinforce the connection between traditional seafaring heritage and the long-standing ritual of sauna. Brightenwells Eterna Sauna
The Brightenwells Eterna Sauna reimagines the classic New England saltbox silhouette, a roofline long trusted in coastal regions for its ability to endure harsh winds and shed heavy snow with ease. This familiar architectural form is translated into a modern wellness space with both strength and elegance.
Inside, the Eterna offers our most spacious standard sauna layout. An L-shaped bench creates room for up to six people, while floor-to-ceiling glass on every side brings the surrounding scenery into the heart of the experience. Light, landscape, and warmth merge to create a deeply restorative environment.
Enveloped in the scent of natural wood and the calm of steady heat, the Eterna becomes a quiet retreat—one that listens and responds to the rhythms of nature. Whether placed in a garden, forest clearing, or beside open water, it stands as a refuge from the rush of daily life, guiding you back to simplicity and presence.
THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF SAUNA
Research suggests that long-term, regular sauna use may help reduce the risk of illness and support overall physical well-being.
Regular sauna users report relaxation and improved sleep quality. What’s more, it's been proven to dramatically reduce cortisol levels which are linked to anxiety, depression and chronic stress.
Home sauna bathing deeply cleanses your skin. The steam can draw bacteria out of the body's sweat ducts, cleanse the pores and improve capillary circulation which leads to clearer-looking skin that is soft to touch.
A sauna session stimulates the same response in the body as mild exercise, releasing endorphins (the happy hormone!). Overall its effects have been shown to decrease the chance of strokes, lower blood pressure and improve cardiovascular health.
There’s a lot of science behind this, but the bottom line is that regular sauna bathing has been found to reduce inflammation and be an incredibly effective pain reliever. It can help rheumatic disorders such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, headaches and back pain.
Due to the heat of a sauna, the core body temperature begins to rise. Sweat production is primarily designed to cool the body, and is composed of 99% water. A comprehensive study which took place over 20 years found individuals who sauna bathed 4-7 times a week were 66% less likely to develop dementia and 65% less likely to develop Alzheimer’s compared to those who did not.
